In a move that he called “another step forward in upholding our ideals of justice and fairness,” President Obama commuted the sentences of 95 individuals on December 18.
Throughout his presidency Obama had been criticized by some for his dearth of commutations, but as the New York Times reports, his actions on Friday surpasses all of the commutations granted by the last six presidents combined. Read the full article here.
