The National Network for Safe Communities (NNSC), Center for Crime Prevention and Control, at John Jay College of Criminal Justice announced that the Office of Community-Oriented Policing Services (COPS) at the U.S. Department of Justice has issued two new reports. Both reports point to the effective strategies developed by the NNSC to prevent crime and strengthen ties between communities of color and law enforcement agencies.
The first report, Pulling Levers Focused Deterrence Strategies to Prevent Crime concerns the effectiveness of such crime prevention strategies. click here to go to website
The Second report, Racial Reconciliation, Truth-Telling and Policy Legitimacy contains a summary of this year’s Executive Session of police-chiefs, policy-makers and others in which strategies to resolve issues between people of color and law enforcement agencies were discussed.
